Uvuko Co. Ltd is a plastic waste processing business located in Tarkwa with an installed capacity of 12 tonnes every month. They are into the collection, shredding,
washing and sale of plastic materials to recycling companies. They have a current staff strength of 7 employees. Generally, recycling helps to reduce GHG emissions
by preventing the extraction, processing, and transportation of new raw materials, as well as by reducing landfill waste, which is a major source of methane. By
processing 12 tons of plastic waste each month, Uvoko activities results in prevent 46,200 tonnes of carbon emissions per month as the emissions savings per kg of
recycled plastic averages at around 3.85kg.
