Fosu Richard is the founder and CEO of Green-Heat Technologies. Fosu holds a BBA Degree from the University of Professional Studies Accra. He is the winner of the maiden edition of the HR Focus Business Challenge organised by Lainé Services, a passionate painter and a self taught artist. “My parents have done wood charcoal business all their lives, I understand the dynamics of the wood fuel business in Ghana and I know the magnitude of harm it is causing to Ghana’s climate and her forest vegetation”- says Fosu. Fosu is on a mission to change the tradition of wood fuel use to renewable fuel use in Ghana and beyond. Fosu is a self-motivated, high spirited and a passionate entrepreneur who has sacrificed a lot including a job opportunity with a famous multinational to pursue his dream of making clean, eco-friendly fuels from wastes for domestic and industrial use in Ghana in commercial quantities. Fosu has a year of work experience as Assistant marketing manager at Unilever Ghana (Foods and Refreshment Category) – Tema. There, he coordinated stakeholders across the nation towards achieving the company’s goals. He worked on global brands and reported to superiors in Ghana and Nigeria.

Green-Heat Technologies is a registered LLC currently based in Kokrobite – Accra. The business deploys innovation and briquetting technology to recycle agricultural wastes including but not limited to dried coconut shell, palm kernel shell, charcoal dust and sawdust into charcoal briquettes under the brand name OGYA. The company aims at developing a wider product line which will include but not limited to char briquettes, fire litters and grill equipment. In the near future, the company will develop and distribute low-cost solutions to help rural communities in Ghana to make char briquettes from agro-wastes. Green-Heat is on a mission to curb carbon emission, deforestation and to help Ghana reclaim a bulk of her lost forest vegetation.
